Todd
Hi there! I’m likely to be your first point of contact :-) I joined Tattoo Crew in 2023 and I manage the reception side of things, booking and admin stuff, manage our social media, design tattoos and I also created this website!
In my spare time you’ll find me recording/mixing/performing music, or hibernating in my room, nerding out with my cats.
Services and Pricing
Tattoo prices vary based on several factors that contribute to the overall artistic experience. The expertise and skill of the tattoo artist are fundamental. The size and intricacy of your desired design play a role, as larger or more detailed tattoos require additional time and precision. Location on the body also influences pricing, considering the varying difficulty of tattooing certain areas.
Quality matters, and reputable artists invest in premium materials to ensure vibrant and long-lasting results. Customization and thorough consultations contribute to the exclusivity of your tattoo, making it a unique piece of art. Remember, while budget considerations are important, the investment in a quality tattoo is a commitment to a lifelong, personalized form of self-expression.
For smaller and simpler tattoos, we can often provide an estimated price for you online via e-mail or social media if you send us a reference photo that is similar to what you would like, as well as a description of the size and location. For more complex designs, we may ask you to drop by our studio for a free consultation with an artist so you can go over the design together and get a more accurate estimated price.
Small Tattoos
Smaller, simpler tattoos that can be completed in less than an hour have a minimum price of $150.
General pricing
Larger tattoos have varying prices depending on location and complexity - contact us for a free quote!
Full Day Bookings
If you have a larger and more time-consuming design in mind, we offer discounted rates if you book an artist for a full day or more.

FAQs And Handy Info
Do you take walk-ins?
While our schedule is often fully booked with appointments, we understand the spontaneity of inspiration. Although we typically operate by appointments, we do encourage you to contact us and inquire about walk-ins! You might just catch us during a rare moment when we can weave your vision and enthusiasm into our schedule.
We will also advertise on our social media when we have a day that we can take walk-ins, so make sure to follow us!
Do I need to book for a consultation?
At Tattoo Crew, your ideas are as welcome here as you are. We can often see you without the need to schedule an appointment for a consultation, but you are also welcome to book a specific time with a specific artist if you prefer.
Our experienced staff are always ready to discuss your vision and offer guidance. Drop by anytime during business hours, and let's bring your ideas to life!
Do I need to pay a deposit?
Yes, we require a deposit to secure an appointment, but no deposit or payment is required for consultations. The deposit amount varies depending on the estimated price of the tattoo, and is usually between $50 - $200. Your deposit is deducted from the total price of the tattoo on the day of the appointment.
Deposits can be paid in person at the studio, or by calling the studio.
What if I can no longer attend my appointment?
It is your responsibility to attend the appointments you make. If you can no longer make your appointment, but you give us at least 24 hours notice, we can reschedule your appointment and carry your deposit forward for you.
If you do not show up to your appointment and have not notified us that you can no longer make your appointment, your deposit may be forfeited, and you will need to place another deposit to secure another appointment. We understand that life can get in the way, and that sudden and unexpected things can happen that cause you to miss your appointment, and we do our best to be reasonable in those circumstances. However, having people cancel at the very last minute or just not show up can be a huge inconvenience to our artists, not to mention the financial loss if we can’t replace your appointment.
What payment methods can I use?
We have EFTPOS and Afterpay.
Do you do gift vouchers?
We do! Gift vouchers can be picked up from our studio, and you can buy a voucher for any amount. Vouchers are valid for 12 months, and are not refundable.
Do you tattoo minors with parental consent?
No, we do not ever tattoo anyone under the age of 18. You will need ID to get a tattoo at our studio.
Can I get a tattoo if I’m pregnant or breastfeeding?
We do not tattoo anybody who is pregnant or breastfeeding. While this may vary from studio to studio, we would always prefer to be on the safe side and mitigate any risks.
How long until I can get a tattoo over my scar?
Tattooing over a scar is definitely possible, but there are factors to consider, and the timing can vary for different individuals. Here are some general guidelines:
Healing Time: It's crucial to wait until the scar has fully healed before attempting to tattoo over it. This could take anywhere from 1-5 years depending on the size and depth of the scar. Rushing the process can lead to health complications, and can also affect the quality of the tattoo.
Scar Characteristics: The texture and color of the scar can impact the tattooing process. Raised or hypertrophic scars, as well as keloids, may require extra caution and may not take ink as well as flat scars.
Consult a Professional: Before proceeding, consult with your doctor, and then a professional tattoo artist. They can assess the scar's condition and provide advice on whether it's suitable for tattooing. Some scars may not hold ink well, while others may require specific techniques.
Medical Considerations: If the scar resulted from a medical procedure, surgery, or injury, it's essential to consult with a healthcare professional before getting a tattoo. They can provide guidance based on your individual health and the nature of the scar.
Test Tattoos: Some artists may suggest doing a small test tattoo on the scar to see how it responds, before committing to a larger design. This can help determine if the scar will take the ink well, and how it will heal.
It’s my first tattoo - What can I expect?
Welcome to the world of body art! We understand that getting your first tattoo can be as daunting as it is exciting, and we are here to ensure it's a memorable and positive experience. If you're a first-timer, here's what you can expect throughout the process of your tattoo.
Consultation: Before the needle touches your skin, we believe in fostering open communication. Your journey begins with a consultation with one of our experienced tattoo artists. This is the perfect opportunity to discuss your ideas, preferences, and any concerns you may have. Our skilled artists will guide you through the design process, offering expert advice to bring your vision to life.
Design Collaboration: Whether you have a clear image in mind or are seeking inspiration, our artists are here to collaborate with you. From refining your concept to customizing the design, we prioritize creating a tattoo that is uniquely yours. We encourage clients to share their ideas, reference images, or even rough sketches to help us understand and craft the perfect design.
Choosing a Location: Selecting the right placement for your tattoo is crucial. During your consultation, our artists will discuss the best locations based on your design, size, and personal preferences. They will also consider factors such as pain tolerance and visibility, ensuring that you make an informed decision that suits your style and comfort.
Understanding the Process: Knowledge is key, especially for first-timers. Our artists will take the time to explain the entire tattooing process, addressing any concerns you may have. From the importance of hygiene and sterilization, to the use of high-quality inks, we prioritize your safety and satisfaction throughout the entire experience.
Take it Easy Beforehand: You will be a lot more comfortable if you avoid extremely strenuous exercise before your tattoo. Get a good night of rest before your appointment. Skip the drugs and alcohol and partying - getting tattooed while hungover, exhausted and sleep deprived is no fun!
Eat and Hydrate: It’s best to eat a healthy meal with plenty of water an hour or two before your appointment, and worth considering bringing some lunch if you have a long appointment for a large tattoo. This helps to prevent any nausea and dizziness you may experience. However, we do always have free snacks, water and soft drink available just in case!
Pain Management: Let's be honest – tattoos involve some level of discomfort. However, our artists are skilled at making the experience as painless as possible. They can provide guidance on numbing options and pain management techniques to help you feel as comfortable as possible and in control throughout the session.
Entertainment: Consider bringing something to keep yourself distracted and entertained. Bringing your headphones and some music, a podcast, a movie or two, or a book are all good ideas to help pass the time.
Aftercare Instructions: Once your tattoo is complete, you are entirely responsible for looking after your new ink properly - however we are still here to help! You will receive detailed aftercare instructions on the day of your tattoo appointment, to ensure proper healing. Following these guidelines is essential for maintaining the integrity and vibrancy of your new ink. Our team is also available to answer any post-tattoo questions or concerns you may have.
We take pride in creating a welcoming and professional environment for individuals embarking on their tattoo journey. Our talented artists are dedicated to turning your vision into a stunning piece of art, and we look forward to being a part of your first tattoo experience!
I forgot the tattoo aftercare information!
We’ve got you covered - there is a brief aftercare summary on your Tattoo Crew appointment card, as well as an aftercare sheet we will give you after your appointment. The same information is also provided here. You are always welcome to reach out to us if there are any other questions or concerns.
Congratulations on your new tattoo!
Taking proper care of your tattoo is key to ensuring it stays vibrant and heals beautifully. Here are some simple but crucial instructions to keep your tattoo looking its best:
Keep it Clean: Wash your hands before touching your tattoo. Gently wash your tattooed area with mild, fragrance-free, alcohol-free soap and lukewarm water. Pat it dry with clean soft paper towel - no rubbing!
Moisturize Regularly: Apply a thin layer of fragrance-free, alcohol-free moisturizer or tattoo-specific ointment to keep your skin hydrated. Avoid petroleum-based products. Less is more - your skin still needs to breathe.
Hands Off, Pets Off: Resist the urge to touch, scratch or pick at your tattoo in order to avoid irritation or potential scarring. Do not let your pets lick, scratch or bite or rub against your tattoo. If your tattoo is licked by an animal, gently clean the tattooed area as soon as possible.
Loose Clothing: Wear loose, breathable clothing to prevent friction on the tattooed area.
Skip the Swimming: Do not go in pools, hot tubs, saunas, baths etc. until your tattoo is fully healed. Submerging it in water can increase the risk of infection.
Minimize Sun Exposure: Shield your tattoo from direct sunlight and tanning beds during the healing process. Once healed, use sunscreen to protect it from fading.
Listen to Your Artist: Follow any other specific aftercare instructions provided by your tattoo artist. They know your tattoo best, and can offer personalized guidance for optimal healing.
Remember, your tattoo is a unique piece of art, and your aftercare routine plays a crucial role in preserving its beauty. If you have any concerns or questions, don't hesitate to reach out to our team.
